March 4/5: Venus in retrograde station in parallel to galaxy M95 and in opposition to the Sombrero Galaxy represents an excellent opportunity to establish highly productive unions, both personally and collectively

     That's right, here comes one of the most anticipated moments of 2017: the retrogradation of Venus. Unlike Mercury, which has three retrogradation periods (sometimes four times) per year, Venus recedes only once every year and a half, approximately. It is a visual and not a physical phenomenon, due to the difference in velocities between Earth and Venus. However, from the astrological point of view, the retrogradation means a "reset", an inventory or revision in order to start over a different cycle, redirecting our energy in matters concerning this planet.

     As Venus, in our civilization, is associated with themes such as art, finance, relationships, love, in the coming weeks  interesting movements are likely to be made in these areas, both in our personal and collective lives. Venus will be retrograde until April 15, another crucial moment to launch projects. Meanwhile, it is best to prepare them properly and without precipitation.

     Not all retrogradations are equal: this time Venus stands in parallel to M95, a barred-spiral galaxy in the constellation of Leo. The most important feature of M95 is that it is a great producer of stars, mostly concentrated in a ring around its core. Although there are many galaxies that have this characteristic due to friction or clash with other neighboring galaxies, in M95 the production seems to come from within, and without disturbing its surroundings. The fact that Venus makes its retrograde station in parallel to M95 symbolizes productive, non-disturbing relationships, synergy, creativity through union.

      Venus is also found, upon stopping at the point of its retrograde station, at an exact ecliptic opposition to the SombreroGalaxy or M104, which is in the constellation Virgo. Since it is an opposition, it is easy to think that Venus is balancing the tendency symbolized by the SombreroGalaxy, is providing  a counterweight. This galaxy is giant, at first thought to be a spiral because of a huge ring of dust on its equator, but it has been discovered that it is actually a giant elliptical and the dust ring is the remnant of a galaxy the Sombrero devoured in the past.

     As if it wasn't enough, the Sombrero has at its center an enormous black hole: it weights 5 billion solar masses! This implies an enormous gravitational power, whose result is a huge concentration, where the emphasis is inside, not outside. In summary: M014 symbolizes a self-centered personality with a dominant or imposing relationship over others, as it "devours" or "eats" them from the psychological point of view. It is here that the retrogradation of Venus makes sense, balancing egocenttric or convenience attitudes at the expense of others with cooperative, highly productive and non-disturbing relationships, indicated by M95. Sounds utopian, isn't it? But in times when dystopia is part of our everyday reality and not just a novel, this Venusian station is the essential utopian antidote for the voracity of the system in which mankind lives today.

     Hence, the Venus retrograde station is one of the most anticipated events of 2017.

     As with any retrogradation, we must take into account, however, that some matters can be delayed or experience resistance, but if we put aside the impatience of Aries, the zodiacal sign in which Venus stops, and rather emphasize its dynamism, it can be assumed as an excellent Period of review and preparation whose deadline is approximately April 15th. Issues related to finance, art, beauty, harmony, sexuality, love, affection, social relations, can be reconsidered, prepared, reoriented. It is possible that we will meet the right people to do so. In fact, at the collective level, this will undoubtedly be reflected in the union of many people in order to achieve a goal, in order to see this, just check the worldwide news in reliable sources.

      Personally, it is a time to produce and / or cooperate. Collectively, union means strength, and can compensate to some extent the devastating effects of egoism. We may have null, partial or excellent achievements, depending on the case. But what would be better than just trying? And under the impulse of Venus, it is possible that this process will be much more pleasant. In any case, it is a good opportunity to integrate harmony, beauty, balance and justice into our lives. Yes, in spite of everything else.

      Within a few hours, two planets of the solar system do their retrograde station at the same declination, which means they are at the same distance from the Celestial Equator. This highly unusual event has a great significance at an astrological level, meaning a powerful blend of the principles of Venus and Uranus: love and harmony unite with freedom and originality. As if that wasn´t enough, the elliptical galaxy M49, located in the constellation Virgo, is also in parallel to both planets. M49, besides being a giant galaxy, is the brightest of the Virgo Cluster, and therefore its astrological association implies visibility, conspicuousness. So the original beauty of Venus and the originality of Uranus will hardly go unnoticed: definitely, we need to take care of it and use it positively.

       The Venusian impulse, full of love, beauty, eroticism and inspiration is left unrestricted by Uranus, and it is best to let it flow freely to refresh the situations we are involved in and give a harmonic overtone to our reality. From a psychological standpoint, the eroticism of Venus is easily sublimated, releasing psychic energy and allowing creativity to flow. The ideal is to channel this impulse through the arts, whether as creators or as  spectators, it doesn´t matter! Art in all its manifestations will certainly raise our level of experience... The point is to let ourselves be electrified and seduced by this trend, which may also make friendship,  romantic and sexual encounters memorable. Do not forget that Venus (eroticism) is born in mythology from Uranus´s genitals, which Saturn throws into the sea, fertilizing it. So this energy has many practical applications beyond mere sexuality...

     Since Venus is an indicator of human relations, they may also take an Uranian hue, unconventional, surprising and very liberating. Controlling, structured, conservative behaviors may cause interferences and problems. It is advisable to be open, with a spontaneous attitude, willing to experiment, that can be exciting and fun! The negative side of this trend, however, may show if we let our personal desires suffocate others. M49 has the tendency to swallow its neighboring galaxies, suggesting possessiveness, domineering attitudes and power games... the opposite of the Uranian tendency that seeks freedom! Financially, we have to be careful too, as there might be unpredictable changes in the economy, although it is possible to make investments and very good purchases if they are well-planned or reasoned. The thing to avoid is impulsive spending.

     It is therefore a good moment to love freely, to renew our emotional life and to break rigid patterns and relationships in our minds through art. Since there aren´t many options to do so during the year, we must take advantage of this extraordinary opportunity ...

¿Would you join Venus in her retrograde trip in the sky?





May 16th, 2012 .... Venus begins its retrograde period conjunct the Crab Nebula (M1), indicating drastic changes in relationships, also in the art world. Around this day, the stock markets had a hard time worldwide! However, some relationships and budgets got boosted instead. Caution is needed not to expose personal feelings too much and to avoid excessive spending.

May 30th, 2012... Venus conjuncts star cluster M79, which is an immigrant from another galaxy the Milky Way has absorbed in the recent cosmic past. This helps social integration, making it possible to iron out differences, to resolve conflicts, to learn more about the people around us. A diplomatic attitude should be considered. The trend is excellent for meetings of any kind and reconciliation.

June 1st, 2012 ... Venus makes a parallel of declination to the Pleiades star cluster (M45), giving strength to new ideas, bringing an idealistic motivation, honesty in relationships and insight ... On the other hand, this trend accelerates the pace of circumstances and projects. This can put a lot of pressure on relationships. Stress should be avoided; we must let things find out their natural rhythm by themselves. In that way, we'll harmonize better with others and with our projects.

June 5th, 2012 .... Venus passes across the disk of the Sun in a very rare event that won't repeat itself in more than a century. This "eclipse of Venus" happens aligned in opposition to the Butterfly Nebula. This nebula is in fact a dying double star system in the constellation Ophiuchus, which produces a beautiful double-lobed nebula around it. This event represents a unique, very particular opportunity to interact creatively with others, whether it is emotional, sexual, artistic, in friendship, business or work. It is a great moment for creating beauty, alone or with others, in all of its forms. However, we may need to consider how the actions or demands of one person can deplete the other person's (or many) energy and resources...


June 7th, 2012... Venus emphasizes idealism in parallel to the Dumbbell Nebula (M27), and can stimulate communication between like-minded people, at least intellectually. This combination promotes objectivity amid somewhat extremist tendencies. It is excelent for research, study, meditation, spirituality, and connecting with the universe in any way. But it can also represent arguments between people with different opinions, ideals or education.

June 8/9th, 2012 ... Venus makes a parallel with the Crab Nebula (M1), the supernova explosion with which it began its retrograde period. It is possible that it will reinforce the same trends of June 15/16th. It can have an effect on art, relationships, finances, which might experience changes. However, this transit is very fast and such a strong effect is not expected or at least not as deep as with its retrograde station.

June 10th, 2012... Venus makes a parallel with the famous Black Eye Galaxy (M64). This represents an harmonic contact with people who think differently, so we can have many positive exchanges. Integration will be easier, so we need to have an attitude of acceptance. Rejection will only deepen old wounds and create more practical problems between people.

June 12th, 2012 ... Venus makes a parallel with the Eskimo Nebula, a planetary nebula or dying star in the constellation Gemini. The tendency is to emphasize idealism and the higher mind, particulary in the exchange with like-minded people. This is great for studying, research, broadcasting, meditation. It is important to not to let ourselves be swayed by extremist attitudes. Avoid discussions of controversial topics, as they may cause discomfort and end up deteriorating relationships.

June 17th, 2012 ... Venus makes a parallel with the Beehive Cluster, or M44, stimulating strongly the need for expression at all levels. This is ideal to create and promote shows, to generate artistic creativity, to express feelings, ideas and demonstrate our skills to everyone. What must be avoided is the tendency to grab too much attention from others, to represent an annoyance to others, and to exaggerate emotions.

June 20th, 2012 ... Venus makes a parallel to M71, which can represent a good performance in the financial and material plane. It is an excellent time for shopping, for doing major investments, for promoting business and valuable exchanges, and to raise self-esteem in psychological terms. It is necessary to see that  gains are not lost with the same speed with which they come; avoid excessive or unnecessary expenses and do save.

 June 24/25th, 2012 ... Venus in parallel to star cluster M53 and the galaxy M85 indicate very good opportunities for exchange. We must participate in the social arena, this is not a moment to stay in isolation, otherwise opportunities will not materialize. It is important to learn to give as much as to receive.


June 28th, 2012 ... Venus ends its retrograde station going direct, resuming its forward motion in the zodiac, in conjunction to the Hyades cluster in the constellation Taurus. It is a time to express emotions, so you have to find the appropriate channel, probably through artistic creativity, in a relationship or as a public of great artistic creations. It also stimulates much romance and sexuality, so you have to take the necessary measures to enjoy it as well as to manage emotions with caution...

July 6th, 2012 ..... Although Venus has resumed its direct motion 9 days before, this time is actually a direct station on declination. Venus resumes its movement north, changing direction at the declination of the Geminga supernova. We can expect around this time strong, intense events and changes in relationships, art, finance, similar to those seen on May 15/16th and June 8/9th.
