January 8/9: Mercury makes its retrograde station conjunct star cluster M7, emphasizing truthfulness and justice with an enormous expressive power

     Mercury's changes of direction, although only apparent as seen from Earth, often coincide with changes of opinion, communication difficulties, flaws in everyday life, and other complications. Therefore, it is always useful to know with which celestial object each Mercurian station is linked. The point of the celestial sphere in which Mercury seems to stop can coincide or align with a celestial body, whose astrological characteristics are blended with the Mercurian station and tell us where the experience of this event comes from ...

     On this occasion, Mercury is stationary in ecliptic conjunction to M7, a stellar cluster in the constellation Scorpius, the Scorpion. M7 is a cluster whose very high temperature, type-B stars symbolize an emphasis on the intellect, ideas, convictions and knowledge. However, the character represented by M7 is far from objective: its brightest star is type G, similar in temperature to our Sun, which emphasizes will and self-assertion. So M7 needs to affirm, convince, motivate, and in some cases, impose, dominate...all through ideas.

     In this way, the difficulties associated with Mercury retrograde can be entangled in discussions whose motivation is to dominate and not necessarily to reach an agreement. If the priority is to be right above the evidence of actual facts, it is obvious that there will be problems. Even more so when Mercury is in Sagittarius, the zodiac sign opposite to the one that it rules, Gemini, and this symbolizes a certain weakness caused by an inability to see things objectively. The Mercurian mentality, used to seeing the two sides of the coin, has to conform to moral, ethical, academic, social or other codes, indicated by Sagittarius. The information must be truthful or falsehood will become more than evident, because there will be no ways to defend it against the evidence.

     It is clear that Mercury's direct station of is pointing out that we must work on the inconsistencies of our belief systems, whether spiritual, political, scientific or otherwise, as well as the laws associated with the zodiacal sign of Sagittarius. Personally, it is possible to direct this work towards ourselves, modifying erroneous points of view and avoiding useless confrontations. On the other hand, if there is a real conviction, the great willingness to be heard from M7 indicates a very good time to promote ideas and projects, although this also facilitates propaganda and fanaticism.

      From a global perspective, the combination of Mercury and M7 represents a vehement need to express. Demonstrations will abound in various parts of the world, and of course, the actions of fanaticism and ideological confrontations will be accentuated. But if voices are raised for righteous and truthful causes, this will have an impressive, perhaps somewhat strident effect. Those who lie will be exposed. It may be necessary to raise the volume so that truth and justice predominate, but also it is advisable to take care of excesses of fanaticism, whether coming from others  or ourselves ... Enero 8/9: Mercurio finaliza su retrogradación en conjunción al cúmulo estelar M7, enfatizando la veracidad y la justicia con un enorme poder de expresión

     Los cambios de dirección de Mercurio, aunque son aparentes vistos desde la Tierra, suelen coincidir con cambios de opinión, dificultades de comunicación, desperfectos en la vida cotidiana, y otras complicaciones. Por ello, siempre resulta útil saber con qué objeto celeste se vincula cada estación mercuriana. El punto de la esfera celeste en el cual Mercurio se estaciona puede coincidir o alinearse con un cuerpo celeste, cuyas características se mezclan con la estación Mercuriana y nos indican por dónde viene la experiencia de este evento...

     En esta ocasión, Mercurio se estaciona en conjunción eclíptica a M7, un cúmulo estelar que reside en la constelación de Scorpius, el Escorpión. M7 es un cúmulo cuyas estrellas de tipo B, de muy alta temperatura, simbolizan un énfasis en el intelecto, en las ideas, en las convicciones y el conocimiento. Sin embargo, el carácter representado por M7 dista mucho de ser objetivo: su estrella más brillante es de tipo G, de temperatura similar a nuestro Sol, que enfatiza la voluntad y la autoafirmación. De modo que las ideas de M7 buscan afirmarse, convencer, motivar, y en algunos casos, imponerse, dominar.

     De este modo, las dificultades asociadas a Mercurio retrógrado pueden verse enredadas en discusiones cuya motivación es dominar y no necesariamente llegar a un acuerdo. Si la prioridad es tener razón sobre las evidencias que nos muestra la realidad, es obvio que va a  haber problemas. Más aún cuando Mercurio se encuentra en Sagitario, el signo zodiacal opuesto al que rige, Géminis, lo que simboliza una cierta debilidad para ver las cosas objetivamente. La mentalidad mercuriana, acostumbrada a ver las dos caras de la moneda, tiene que ajustarse a códigos morales, éticos, académicos, sociales o de otro tipo, indicados por Sagitario. La información debe ser veraz o la falsedad se hará más que evidente, pues no habrá maneras de defenderla ante las evidencias.

     Es claro que la estación directa de Mercurio nos está señalando que hay que trabajar sobre las inconsistencias de nuestros sistemas de creencia, sean espirituales, políticos, científicos o de otro tipo, y también de las leyes, asociadas con el signo zodiacal de Sagitario. En lo personal, es posible dirigir este trabajo hacia nosotros mismos, modificando puntos de vista erróneos y evitando confrontaciones inútiles. Por otro lado, si existe una real convicción, la gran voluntad de ser escuchado de M7 indica un muy buen momento para promocionar ideas y proyectos, aunque esto también facilite la propaganda y el fanatismo.  

      Desde la perspectiva mundial, la combinación de Mercurio y M7 representa una vehemente necesidad de expresar. Las manifestaciones abundarán en varias partes del mundo, y por supuesto, las acciones de fanatismo y las confrontaciones ideológicas se acentuarán. Pero si se alza la voz por causas justas  y veraces, esto tendrá un efecto impresionante, quizás un tanto estridente. Quienes mientan, quedarán expuestos. Tal vez sea necesario elevar el volumen para que la verdad y la justicia predominen, pero también debremos cuidarnos de excesos de fanatismo, de parte de los demás pero también de nosotros mismos... Cuidemos lo que decimos: ¡las palabras tendrán el peso de bombas! O de fuegos artificiales, si optamos por una versión constructiva de la visita de Mercurio a M7.
