May 8/9: Juno in retrograde station in parallel to the Wild Duck Cluster (M11) indicates the reevaluation of commitments in relationships and a deep transformation of the social contract in our civilization

     When the smaller planet Juno makes its retrograde station, it indicates an area to work on in relationships, especially love, but it can be actually any relationship that involves commitment. In its retrograde phase of May 2017,  Juno advances through the zodiacal sign of Capricorn, whose disposition towards commitment is also great. So one of the main themes of the year, until Juno changes sign, entering Aquarius in December 2017, is  the way we make contracts and how we carry them out.

     Juno stops in parallel to the Wild Duck Cluster (M11), one of the open clusters most abundant in stars. If the average of an open cluster is usually 100/200 stars, M11 has more than 2,900, which makes it one of the most abundant and conspicuous cosmic families in our galaxy ... M11 is in the constellation Scutum, the Shield, and its corresponding zodiacal position is in the 13th degree of Capricorn. Its abundance of stars of the spectral types A, G and K suggests a communicative, expressive, dominant and deeply emotional personality.

     The fact that Juno makes its retrograde station in parallel to M11 indicates a great need to share, express and feel in the company of others. This impulse can lead to important alliances with like-minded people, but it can also intensify existing relationships. As Juno rules marriage, it will also intensify the debate and struggle related to homosexual marriage in different countries, with different results.     It should not be forgotten that Juno is currently in close conjunction with Pluto, a planet that symbolizes deep transformations and radical changes, not exempt from struggle, effort and confrontations. We must also check if we  are corresponding in a balanced way to those who show interest in us, in marriage, love, friendship, in relations with our neighbors, in the family, at work, as citizens, etc. etc. Balance involves questioning whether our attitudes can be selfish, something we tend to overlook, always blaming others.      This balancing process will last for most of the year, until November, when Juno returns to its retrograde station point. But we will feel more its influence during the month of May. This open cluster in the constellation Scutum, the Shield, is one of the most abundant in stars. Open clusters are groups of young stars that are similar to families, unlike globular clusters, which bear a resemblance to cities and can contain hundreds of thousands of old stars. M11, also called the "Wild Duck Cluster" because of its triangular appearance, similar to a formation of ducks in flight, is one of the most abundant among the known open clusters: it has about 2,900 stars. It's a huge family of stars!

     Therefore, the meaning ascribed to M11 is one of abundance; but, when connected to Jupiter, also suggests excesses. It is the solar system's largest planet with a huge magnetic field that exceeds in intensity these of the other planets. As Jupiter is also connected to Pluto by a trine, ideas like excess pollution, excess power, cost overruns, excessive destruction, excesses of fanaticism come to mind... It is very likely that we will see in the news such unfortunate events worldwide, caused by a lack of awareness of the limits imposed on us by reality and nature itself.

     Of course, there can also be very good manifestations of this astrological combination, especially in finances, if existing conditions and structures allow for growth. Prosperity is definitely associated with the abundance of M11 and Jupiter's size, but the tendency to mobilize resources attributed to Pluto may have a positive effect on individual finances or in some institutions and countries. caution is needed, however, because this economic flow, if uncontrolled, can lead to excessive and unnecessary expenses. And all excess is followed by a compensation in the form of a lack: moderation is needed to avoid painful and uncomfortable contrasts.

Pluto, M11 and the underworld: abundance and manipulation

     Seeing Pluto in close-up is a great achievement of mankind, but psychologically, this represents something similar to taking a look at the Underworld. As Mars is involved, the conflict is guaranteed. The oppositions between Mars and Pluto represent, in principle, a power conflict. And so they seem to be in practice, as they regularly match highly challenging events. This has never been uncommon in human relationships, but it is interesting to investigate what this confrontation is about whenever these planets align 180 ° apart. This time, the opposition of both planets is given in ecliptic alignment with the Wild Duck Cluster or M11, a group of stars in the constellation Scutum, the Shield.

Although Mars is traditionally "weak" in the sign of Cancer, the alignment with M11 gives it a special strength, which is based on the power of expression. This has been a time of dramatic events, and this time, the opposition to Mars reveals the struggle required to make a turn in the direction and current conventions of our civilization. It indicates the required struggle to prevent humanity to be held hostage to the power of money.

Protection and defense: the change of course

    Unfortunately,the  Pluto/Mars/M11 opposition is too brief to have a profound effect, but probably the accumulation of voices can make a significant contribution to counterweight the accumulation of money at this stage. If this is the age of democracy, power is held by people, as its name implies. And the fact that Mars is in Cancer does not take away people´s strength, it merely describes the enormous vulnerability of ordinary people  and nature to the destructive voracity of the present economic system. Pluto may be an evolutionary agent also, but it is clear that at the moment its corrosive manifestation has intensified... It is necessary to channel its regenerative power so that there is a counterweight, and the social movements we'll be witnessing in the coming weeks can be very interesting ... Will they make society change towards a gentler, more constructive way, or the opposite? Let's see!

The regenerative power of emotions

   At an individual level, what can we do with this opposition? It is best to have a personal approach, since in many cases the preset formulas or even common sense will not work when applied to specific situations. All this is suggested by the Sun's opposition to M3, which is a very large and compressed globular, representing the collective pressure over the individual will. Palas symbolizes plans and ideas, while  M11 is a very abundant cluster, and therefore quite prosperous. The asteroid/cluster mix reflects the generation of great ideas, but also too much to do in order to achieve them. Just thinking about all we have to do can make us feel tired ... or getting stuck by doubts, insecurity or lack of motivation. However, Mars in contra parallel intervenes and provides the energy needed to work hard to materialize our strategies. It is so far one of the best impulses during this year to give a concrete shape to our plans, do not waste it! This trend will last until next weekend, so get to work now!

September 26/27: Mercury, Jupiter and the Wild Duck Cluster (M11) expand our mental horizons and promote inspiration and emotional expression

September 26/27: Mercury is in a fabulous parallel with M11 the Wild Duck Cluster, one of the most populated custers of stars, representing abundance and new perspectives. Furthermore, in trine to Jupiter, Mercury favors travel, communication, research, and an extension of our common horizons... This is an oasis of natural optimism that may have been a bit tarnished these days by the "spleen of the century" that I referred to in another article in the Galactic Guide. However, in practical details ther may be flaws, since Mercury also makes a sesquisquare (135°) with Neptune, which may coincide with confusion, forgetfulness, distractions, embarrassing indiscretions and communication problems.

      Anyway, if this trend is used to explore the transcendent mind, there may be a lot of inspiration and motivation. This requires some structure and order, but it is worth trying. On the other hand, M11 is a cluster that represents a strong need for emotional expression, as it is abundant in A-type stars. We must find a creative outlet through which to channel this, otherwise we may invade the space of others with our emotions. Look for your adequate stage, jump into the scene when it's your time and then leave the scene as it's other people's turn......
