December 16 /17: Uranus and the Antennae Galaxies generate resistance to conventions; Mercury , Jupiter and star cluster M79 bring new information that favors communication and development

December 16/17: Mercury at 150° from Jupiter and opposite star cluster M79. It is necessary to conform to the way others communicate, acting with flexibility, showing acceptance of new people, ideas and projects. anopen attitude can bring good consequences. Mercury rules communication, and it is in opposition to M79, an immigrant cluster that comes from another galaxy. The theme suggested here is the assimilation of new information and/or new people, which can be quite positive. Of course, the beneficial element of this assimilation is shown by Jupiter, which always leads to some growth.  But to make this promising astrological trend effective you have to show flexibility and adaptability to the new and positive lement that life offers us today... Rigidity can obviously block this beneficial trend ... Indeed, it is an excellent day 7couple of days to travel, study or teach languages and broader and profound issues, to contact people who are physically away, abroad or to overcome communication bariers between people.

      But the most important event of the week is definitely Uranus in direct station at 45° from minor planet Juno and in opposition to the Antennae Galaxies. This suggests a strong tendency to changes in relationships and prior arrangements. The relationships affected by this event can range from couples and partnrships, to coworkers, family or close friendships, but the fact is that many of them will have to rethink the meaning of commitment. No need to rush, though, for this important astrological event's influence lasts for about six months. However, it is during these mid-december days when the shift occurs. Juno, the asteroid of relationships, is conjunct star cluster M3, which contains many variable stars, suggesting worn-out or outdated elements in relationships. It is time to start renewing commitments into a different approach, but we have six months to do so.

      Once more, Uranus' station occurs in opposition to the Antennae Galaxies, an astrological combination whose meaning is to resist or defend from unfavorable or inappropriate situations . The second, more positive meaning is about achieving a healthy balance between individuality and relationships. Both options require adjustments and changes over the next semester. The Antennae Galaxies represent a strong impact  from other people in our lives (and viceversa ) and are in the process of shock, merging in a single galaxy. The force of attraction between the two galaxies symbolizes relationships which we can not avoid and that strongly impact our lives. Uranus in opposition rebels fromthe tyranny of such relations, but it creates a necessary balance in which it is possible to take some distance from social commitments. This indicates that we can have striking encounters either with old or new people.

     Internationally, it is likely that the atmosphere of rebellion and the need for change intensifies with this trend. The Antennae Galaxies symbolize the impact of society upon the individual, customs and traditions in our lives. Uranus, on its side, stands for the resistance force, the cutting-edge and the renewal that are necessary to avoid being swallowed by conventions. Briefly, Uranus station reinforces spontaneity , authenticity,experimentation, changes and as always  freedom. Yes, even though that mightt shake previous agreements and routines.

November 30/December 1: The Sun, star cluster M4, the Antennae Galaxies and Uranus give us the opportunity to revitalize relationships, to overcome obstacles and to encourage exchange

November 30/December 1:The Sun conjunct star cluster M4 and trine to the Uranus/Antennae Galaxies opposition. This astrological combination is excellent to overcome obstacles in relationships, to revive feelings and to meet with people who have been distant. The meetings can be as unexpected as influential;  they are likely to be intense and motivating. We must be open to the experiences that life will bring in the area of relationships, even if they are out of our plans. How is this possible?

      M4 is an old globular cluster, obscured by large amounts of dust that exist in its area, which is the boundary between the constellations Sagittarius , Scorpius and Ophiuchus, near the prominent star Antares. The dust indicates obstacles that can be overcome with the aid represented by the transit of the Sun. But M4 has a millisecond pulsar, a neutron star that was literally resurrected. Its rotation is currently being accelerated at an impressive speed by its contact with a companion star. Thus, it has the meaning of revitalization, revival. Meanwhile, Uranus, which tends to give surprises and to reverse situations, is in opposition to the Antennae Galaxies, which are aalaxy couple in the process of merging into one. This symbolizes relationships that affect us unexpectedly, changes caused by others, enriching exchange.

     Whether this affects us positively or not depends on the particular situation and those involved in the case. But , knowing this tendency, it is possible to take advantage of it in order to give a healthy impulse to our relationships, and revitalize those who have been cold, distant or  passing through complications. Yes, it is also possible to revive old resentments, so it is wise to avoid provocations and focus only on situations and people that have a positive potential. Anyway , for better or for worse, the speed of M4's pulsar indicates the tendency to be accelerated by others. Take it easy! Don't let yourself be stressed. But it is also true that such pressure may be preferable to a lack of communication ... It can work to resolve misunderstandings and overcome problems, anyway...

April 1 to 3: The Sun, Jupiter and star clusters M3 and M75 balance social commitments with personal development; Mars, Pallas and the Wild Duck Cluster (M11) offer help to materialize great productive ideas

April 1 to 3: The Sun is within 60° of Jupiter and in opposition to star cluster M3. This mix certainly is about  finding a space for personal growth beyond social commitments or work obligations. It is best to have a personal approach, since in many cases the preset formulas or even common sense will not work when applied to specific situations. All this is suggested by the Sun's opposition to M3, which is a very large and compressed globular, representing the collective pressure over the individual will. The Sun, symbolizing the individual power, opposes M3, balancing with a good dose of personal initiative and the dedication necessary to compensate too much dedication to other people.

     This is reinforced by Jupiter in contra parallel to star cluster M75, which is one of the most compressed in our galaxy. Jupiter's contra parallel has a similar meaning to the opposition as it balances the weight of obligations and commitments with the development of personal interests. It seems that this issue is very important and repetitive at this time, because Uranus is in opposition to the Antennae Galaxies, a collision of galaxies that symbolizes the strong impact of relationships in personal life ... Uranus, the planet of individuality par excellence, is opposed to them, balancing this impact. It is an excellent time to find time for oneself, perhaps through a great holiday or developing activities that have been postponed because of daily routine, work or other reasons. Make room for yourself and respect your personal space and time to harmonize your life!

     The Sun in opposition to the Sombrero Galaxy (M104) repeats the same theme on April 2, but in a slightly different way. The Sombrero Galaxy contains within it a black hole of gigantic proportions: is 5 billion times the mass of the Sun! This represents an enormous gravitational power, which involves a psychological tendency to turn inwards in an egocentric way. The opposition of the Sun symbolizes leaving this concentration on the self and opening our eyes to the outside world, once again, to balance with a more objective outlook. In some cases, this tendency will represent to escape from the control of dominant personalities that absorb our time... including oneself, when applicable.

     On April 3, Mars is contra parallel to asteroid Pallas and star cluster M11, the Wild Duck Cluster. This combination can be highly positive, and represents productive strategies in action. Palas symbolizes plans and ideas, while  M11 is a very abundant cluster, and therefore quite prosperous. The asteroid/cluster mix reflects the generation of great ideas, but also too much to do in order to achieve them. Just thinking about all we have to do can make us feel tired ... or getting stuck by doubts, insecurity or lack of motivation. However, Mars in contra parallel intervenes and provides the energy needed to work hard to materialize our strategies. It is so far one of the best impulses during this year to give a concrete shape to our plans, do not waste it! This trend will last until next weekend, so get to work now!

September 24/25: The Lunar North Node and the Draco Dwarf Galaxy foster retreats and introspection, while the Sun, Juno and M87, relationships and social life ... Mars in parallel to the Antennae Galaxies indicates caution in managing energy

September 24/25: The North Node is conjunct the Draco Dwarf Galaxy, in parallel to Pluto and at 45° from Mercury. The Lunar North Node or Dragon's Head (its mythological name) represents evolutionary trends and the direction we must take to flow with the overall circumstances. At present, the North Lunar Node, the point where the planes of the Sun and Moon intersect is in ecliptic conjunction with the Draco Dwarf Galaxy. This dwarf galaxy, very difficult to see even with telescopes, is a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way, and is in orbit around it. Describes a tendency to withdraw from the external world, and away from superficial values (samsara). This may be so whether physically or mentally, internally. The fact is that this concentration itself, similar to that of a hermit, may serve to deal with unconscious parts of the personality or perhaps exploiting the inner riches and trying to develop them, maybe both. We must be good to ourselves in this retreat!

     Still, there is a trend that is totally opposite, as is outgoing and is in terms of relationships, affection and social life. The Sun is conjunct to M87, sextile to Juno, and then in conjunction with M91 and in opposition to Pallas. This sequence followed by the Sun represents primarily a tendency to express, very typical of M87, which can promote harmony in relationships, and communication, especially after the strong, restrictive parallel Saturn/Juno that took place a few days ago, which is beginning to fade. Furthermore, M87, a giant and protagonist galaxy, shows a strong initiative that inspires and motivates others, so team work is enhanced. Partnerships can be strong in the personal and collective; to be avoided are power games that can be avoided if all participants are in harmony.

     Meanwhile, the Sun in opposition to Pallas and transiting in ecliptic conjunction with M91 indicates the possibility of arranging and stabilizing situations complicated by a lack of external support. M91 is a galaxy that pays a high cost for holding its individuality, as is not getting external approval. It is a day to make good relations while we correct behaviors or trends that take us away from the right people. It is also a good day to do general repairs, construction, reorganization and practicing good nutrition, feeding your body parts with the substances you really need. Make a plan that suits your individual needs, do not impose general rules rigidly to your particular case.

     Mars in parallel to the Antennae Galaxies, at 135° from Uranus in contra parallel to star cluster M12... It is necessary to be very careful in the handling of personal energy and relationships in order to prevent accidents and bad surprises. Extreme cautions and do things with patience, without risking complications with others. This attitude can save you a lot of trouble, it is a time when tensions can easily arise. It is necessary to measure the impact we can have on others with our actions and words, while we select who we receive impacts from. This is due to the strong interaction that are having the Antennae Galaxies, indicating intense relationships. And with Mars in Scorpio, it also emphasizes greatly sexuality, passion and emotions, which in any case, are a better option than an exhausting, useless confrontation...

September 3/4: An abundance of combinations between planets, galaxies and nebulae astrological intensify the astrological traffic at the start of the week. There will be many available channels to connect  with... As always, on days like this it is wise to select the best option for what we want to experience, according to our needs. Here is a list of the main frequencies that are activated in this couple of days or even the whole week. Or you may want to use each one for something different!

     One of the most interesting is undoubtedly the conjunction of Uranus and Pallas, which in turn are in opposition to the Antennae Galaxies. This suggests a strengthened individuality, and a good time to bring out and develop plans and strategies at a personal level, outside obligations and routine work. This trend shows originality and creativity. Elsewhere in the Galactic Guide we have discussed the interesting phenomenon that is Uranus in opposition to the Antennae Galaxies, a galactic collision in the constellation Corvus. The fact that these galaxies are merging into a single one indicate the strength of the collective pull and relationships. Uranus, the planet of individuality, revolution, freedom, opposes them in several months of 2012, and hence the abundance of massive demonstrations around the planet. In any case, with Pallas, the theme is applying strategies to see what we can do individually to make this planet better in this whole collective process of change, so strong by now and the three years to come. Oh, and it also favors  visual arts, since Pallas is parallel to the Horsehead Nebula, one of the most famous and probably indicating important events and great creativity in the world of film and visual arts. Perhaps they are now filming scenes, taking photos and painting pictures that will cause sensation in the following months and years! Or maybe it is just a good time to make good plans and watch a good movie.

     Venus square Saturn and trine to Juno is a frequency that, unlike the previous one, is centered on relations.  Venus at 90° from Saturn is restrictive, so it is likely that some relationships will resent the distance. However, this mix can be positive if the limits are suitably applied in most relationships. If there is a real desire to relate, the important thing is not to be right, but to get over the distance and difficulties with diplomacy, kindness and harmony. A good time to structure the budget, however, so as to demonstrate commitment in relationships despite any obstacles or distance (emotional, ideological or otherwise) that may exist.

     Juno conjunct the Draco dwarf galaxy also lasts for almost a week and refers to the desire to balance company with the need for solitude. This can result difficult in some cases, and perhaps you'll have to confront the unconscious part of certain relationships. In any case it is good to do a thorough analysis of many of them. The Draco dwarf galaxy is a dwarf satellite galaxy of the Milky Way, and contains a large amount of dark matter. Hence the transit of Juno, the relations specialist, encouraging psychoanalytic exploration. The Draco Dwarf is very difficult to observe and therefore only recently discovered, that's why it represents isolation. Therefore, some couples, families, friends and associations will feel the need to whether distance themselves from the world, or to allow for a few days an individual spacefor everyone, quite important for each partner or team member.

     Mercury in parallel to the galaxy M60, conjunct the Vela Supernova, in contra parallel to Neptune. This trend indicates extraordinary strengthening of the power of thought, although it is likely to last for only a few hours or at most  a couple of days. The galaxy M60 is giant, so huge that the Mercury parallel depicts very strong concepts, words and ideas. Be careful with what you say, because excess energy can cause damage or a different effect than expected. But this combination is extremely creative, and this power may be combined with  the Vela supernova, suggesting a profound vision of reality, and Neptune, which governs ESP and creative imagination. Is it a great time to let our minds and our actions flow without much structure or daily control, because their tendency is towards the transcendent. If you see too much chaos in your daily routine, it means you are unconsciously connected with this frequency, and it is advisable to be flexible ... and seeing things from a different angle. Let your unconscious speak: dreams can be intense and revealing ...

     Mars in contra parallel to galaxy M91, sextile to Pluto and trine to Chiron. This theme is about power and transformation, which can be useful in the context of physical training, rehabilitation, medical applications and research , political activities , and of course for wrestling sessions... But on the other hand, it tends to generate a lot of opposition and cause intense confrontations and futile power games. If you feel a strong desire for activity or a strong anger, this frequency may have connected with any of the planets in your astrological birth chart. In that case, you'll have to control this impulse. Above all, avoid conflicts: Mars is war-like, and M91 is a galaxy that goes in an opposite direction to the rest of his companions in the Virgo cluster, indicating a tendency to contradict and oppose everyone in open rebellion to the collective trend. The results can be disastrous and violent in some cases. But if channeled into major challenges, this is a boost if you have goals to reach and need some extra energy... It is also useful for filling all kinds of shortcomings, especially on the diet, compensating with any adequate nutrients that are missing from the body.

August 31st/ September 1st: Venus, Ceres and Nebula M43 give new energy projects and situations that require a boost to produce. Pallas helps absorb the impact of the Antennae Galaxies, while Mercury, the star Regulus and M15 indicate intense and powerful communication

     August 31st/September 1st: Venus is semisextile Ceres and the Nebula M43, at 45° from the Sun and the galaxy M105. Ceres, the asteroid that represents Mother Earth, offers protective support in conjunction with M43, a nebula that may represent difficulties and inconsistencies. It's a good time to give strength to projects, relationships and situations that have a positive potential but need a little help to reach a productive level. In this sense, Venus helps cooperation, even more as it is in opposition to a pair of neutron stars: PSR 1913 +16. This represents strong attractions, quite intense, but temporary. But they can still be very useful to restore strength and faith with a little cooperation.

     The same is true of the semi-square (45°) between Venus and the Sun, which is conjunct the elliptical galaxy M105. In this galaxy, moderate star formation has been detected, contrary to expectations for elliptical galaxies, filled with old stars and no ionized hydrogen regions in which new stars can form. This indicates that the general trend is to find fertility and prosperity fin ways you would not normally expect. You have to gather with the right people to support projects that promise good rewards, but they need an energy boost. Do it "with a little help from your friends"!

     The Sun is at 150° from Pallas, which is in opposition to the Antennae Galaxies. The opposition of the asteroid Pallas to the Antennae Galaxies, a galactic collision in the constellation of Corvus, comes in handy to fix the problems that has left for so long the opposition between Uranus and these galaxies. Although the duration of this transit is in effect for only about a week, it is a good time to fix things after receiving the impact of people in recent weeks, or even for the past couple of months. The idea is to rearrange things differently after being infuenced by certain situations or personalities in the recent past. It is therefore a time of organization and to define action plans. Mercury conjunct Regulus and square to the Lunar Nodes and opposed to the star cluster M15. Regulus is a star of type B7 and strongly stimulates ideas, particularly in relation to culture, politics and information. This star gives it a particular intensity to communicating on this day ...

     It's a good time to express and communicate, to teach and transmit, but also to avoid extremes, fanaticism, overly personal views if you want to be spared of problems. Globally, this undoubtedly symbolizes important news from governments about international issues. The power of speech is on! Personally, it's a good time to communicate effectively and efficiently with people we care about. But it can also involve news about imposing unpopular policies ... In opposing M15, Mercury needs to compensate the discontent that represents this star cluster, since in its interior many types of stars of different nature co-exist in a chaotic way. Therefore, it symbolizes important disagreements  both internationally, and in several countries' local policies...  Hopefully, Mercury will help bringing good news before entering its own zodiac sign in a few hours!

The Uranus / Pluto squares 2012-2015: revolution and evolution, destruction and rebirth

Revolution and evolution in the XXIst century

     Everyone is talking about this, even if it is not in astrological terms. This is normal: when two slow planets like Uranus and Pluto are located at a 90° angle from each other (in relation to the zodiac or ecliptic) significant events in the evolution of our civilization take place. Evolution? I'd rather say revolution, as both Uranus and Pluto are associated with profound changes in society when they interact in the heavens. Uranus in particular, discovered at the time of the French, American and industrial revolutions,  acquired astrologically the connotation of the time of its discovery. It is the indicator par excellence, in our solar system, of break-ups with existing structures, suddenly tearing the established social order and strengthening  innovative social currents at all levels. Investigations by the Voyager space missions have confirmed since mid-80's that Uranus has a rotation axis tilted in relation to the plane of its orbit, much more than that of the other planets. This indicates a tendency to aim at different objectives to those of the majority, symbolizing processes of rebellion, change, renewal, rupture.

    There is no evolution without revolution, so many times Uranus has been compared in its effect to the behavior of Prometheus in Greek mythology, a character who dares to break the rules of Olympus, providing the use of fire to mankind. And, obviously, he is punished. But once the crack appears in the wall, there's no turning back. The shell is broken and there is no way to repair it to return to the original state: there is no other option than moving forward. When Uranus starts or ends its retrograde periods (an apparent backward motion), it is said to be in a station or stationary, and important events occur in the world. Sometimes pushing the hard way, Uranus reminds us through its stations of the need to renew our routine and change direction. But this happens twice a year with all the planets in the solar system, included Uranus: retrogradations are not extraordinary events.


Uranus and Pluto resume and enhance the cultural revolution of the 1960's

     However, on July 14th, 2012, Uranus made its retrograde station forming a square or 90 degree relationship to Pluto, initiating a series of interactions that will last until 2015. Uranus and Pluto will be exactly square to each other on seven occasions between 2012 and 2015. The present Uranus station and interaction with Pluto marks the beginning of a process of deep and drastic changes at both the individual and social levels. Why? To understand this, we should note that these squares and their corresponding events do not occur in isolation, but as part of a cycle of 138 years that began in 1965/1966 with their conjunction, a time when there was a cultural and political revolution around the world. When these two planets reach their crescent phase, ie at an angle of 90° as now, it is natural that the trends observed at the start of the cycle will manifest again.

     But the square or crescent phase between two planets tends to intensify the paradigms expressed in the initial phase, even more so when the square is extended for a period of four years. The changes, for better or for worse, will be much more dramatic than those that happened at that time. It is therefore a process of global political, social and cultural revolution of great scope. In 2012, we are just at the startup. It is therefore very important to be aware what we are going through, and where we're heading to. To better understand this, it is useful to know the manifestations of Uranus and Pluto interactions over the past four decades, from the epoch of the conjunction to the current square. Astrological corelations in this period will allow us to see what intensifies now, what has changed and what remains from the original seed.



An essential paradigm of the 1966-2104 cycle: unity is strength

         The last conjunction, actually the beginning of the Uranus/Pluto cycle happened on June 30, 1966 in ecliptic conjunction to the galaxy group called Copeland's Septet, located in the constellation Leo. This is interesting because galaxy clusters symbolize the union of several countries or several sectors of society. The Copeland's Septet shows several interacting galaxies, which are probably merging into one, thus symbolizing joint resources. If the start represents the seeds of what will unfold along the entire cycle, then renewal throughout this entire Uranus/Pluto cycle is based on collective interaction. It is a fusion of different nationalities, idiosyncrasies, cultures, technologies and economies, that we now call globalization. At that time, the newly born revolutionary trend was a very impulsive one, as is any combination or cycle at its very start: consciousness always comes later.

     The present revolution thus actually began in the 1960's, and naturally, government structures were not ready for managing it: repression followed. But the crack in the system had already appeared, the reference points, the paradigms of the new phase had already been drawn: peace and love, freedom, communion, a free sexuality, pop culture, the important political role of young people in society and above all, the power of people united as a counterweight to the inflexibility of government systems. The current governance model was still rooted in the concept of an all-powerful central power, and a submissive, obedient and faithful people, which is not very far from the imperial system of many ancient cultures. In it, the emperor, king, dictator, ruler, president, and the structure surrounding him (not her,check) are representatives of an immutable cosmic order. To rebel against that order was tantamount to transgressing a divine mandate or breaking the laws of the universe, which obviously deserved punishment for, just like the ancient Greeks' hybris.


From nationalism to globalization, Copeland's Septet

     Of course, this pattern began to break up much earlier, revolutions have always existed, and since Uranus was discovered, the utopian paradigm was "liberty, equality, fraternity". The wars of independence in Latin America in the nineteenth century are an example of how the previous cycle of Uranus and Pluto, which began in 1850, redraw the benchmarks of society, from a colonialist political-religious structure towards a focus on regional autonomy and sovereignty: nationalism. By the way, the nationalist ideals correspond to the discovery of Neptune (subject of another article, of course), which anyway is involved simultaneously with the start of the former cycle Uranus/Pluto. That cycle ended in 1965 and since then the nationalistic ideals have proved ineffective, sometimes tragically, against the advance of global capitalism. The new revolution consists largely of a series of attempts to achieve the consolidation of a global network, symbolized by Copeland's Septet, still in its infancy in the 2010's.

     This network is threatened by capitalism itself, and in the coming years we will undoubtedly have to struggle to maintain its autonomy. It's like a new global nationalism supported mainly by social networks and the Internet, who grew slowly at the turn of the century, in the 90's and 2010's. In those years, which saw the unusual growth of the Internet and its accessibility, nor the providers of the service nor its consumers realized the extent of the social and political utility that now is an essential part of the change... The need for a change of paradigm undoubtedly had its origin in the cultural revolution of the 60's. But what happened to Uranus and Pluto in that half century? These planets did not have many strong interactions during those years, but their moments of contact, by its own symbolism, reveal a tendency to drastic change. Let's see:


Milestones of the first quarter of the 1966-2104 cycle

      In September 1975 the first big phase of the Uranus-Pluto cycle since 1966 took place: both planets were in contraparallel, a combination whose meaning refers to a balance. This astrological combination coincided with two attempts to assassinate then U.S. president Gerald Ford, and with large demonstrations in Spain against the agonizing Franco regime  (Franco actually died shortly thereafter), and other dramatic events worldwide. Is it clear that the combination of these planets is challenging the established power? And Gerald Ford was in many ways the antithesis of Franco ...

       The next significant step in the Uranus/Puto cycle happened, many years later, in a series of 3 parallels between the two planets in April, June and November 2002. Many events in this year clearly reflect the intensity and violent tendencies of Uranus and Pluto. In April 2002, there was a coup in Venezuela, accompanied by mass protests, which were also France against the candidacy of far-right politician Jean Marie LePen. And something totally unexpected, but that would mark painfully the awareness of the power of T.V. and the general lack of control over weapons: in Erfurt, Germany, a schoolboy kills 16 children and teachers in a school and kills himself. In a civilized society, barbarism shockingly contaminates the purest part of humanity.

     Other events in June and December 2002, in which there were two additional parallels between Uranus and Pluto, show a global hectic time. The political crisis in Venezuela deepens, North Korea expelled United Nations inspectors and reactivates its nuclear plans, while tens of thousands of people protest in Hong Kong, bombs explode in Chechnya, a huge fire devoured 400 km2 in Denver and pictures of Van Gogh are stolen in Amsterdam. The world is definitely on fire!



2012-2015 and 2031-2038: The two most revolutionary periods in the XXIst century

    And although there have been, certainly other instances in which Uranus and Pluto have interacted astrologically, notably by making angles of 30° and 45°, the contra parallel (1975), the parallel (2002) and square (2012-2015) are the most significant moments in the cycle after the conjunction. And if the present square or angle of 90°, the most dramatic of the angular relationships between celestial bodies, lasts for 4 years, it is because Pluto's orbit is particularly elongated, making it apparently move faster in certain points of its orbit and much slower in others. In comparison, the next series of squares will only last for two years between 2073 and 2074.

     But during most of the XXIst century, the periods of radical change, indicated by this pair of planets, are particularly extended, as in the present period (2012-2015) and on the next series of contra parallels, which will occur in 16 phases (!) between 2031 and 2038. By far, this can be considered the logest revolutionary period of the century, though perhaps not as dramatic and intense as it can be during 2012-2015, since the squares correspond to most dramatic and crucial events than the contra parallel, which symbolizes a process of balance, and not necessarily friction, as the square.



First stage: lighting the fuse with retrograde Uranus and Antennae Galaxies

     Uranus' retrograde station, which happened on July 14th, 2012, was in opposition to the Antenna Galaxies, a topic widely discussed in various sections of the Galactic Guide some days ago. The Antenna Galaxies, located in the constellation Corvus, are in the process of merging: in some million years they will gather their cores to form a single entity. For now, we see them from Earth to have a strong mutual influence. Both have been significantly distorted by the contact, which symbolizes relationships that exert great influence over the individual.

     When Uranus, a planet that represents individuality, opposes these galaxies in July 2012, it indicates that the process of revolution in its first phase, is motivated by two features. The first is the need to join forces at a collective level to achieve the changes required in today's civilization: many individuals will suddenly be drawn by a social conscience and will add voluntarily to the change process. Union means strength ... The second relates to the resistance of individuals to accept the influence of a society whose design does not really take into account their needs. The globalization process at this stage is about to give greater strength to the power of the individual and not to the institutions that control society, whether through the state apparatus, corporations and companies, or underground organizations.



The global spring in autumn 2012: struggle between control and freedom

     But probably the most intense period of 2012 will be around September, as Pluto makes its direct station on the 17th, a day before the exact square to Uranus. The two events happening within 24 hours indicates that the events will be much more intense. Uranus is in ecliptic opposition to the Draco Spindle galaxy in the constellation Draco. This galaxy represents major obstacles to overcome: the struggle between the renewal and resistance to it will polarize particularly at this time, and there is no doubt that will coincide with explosive events worldwide. Uranus specialty is breaking down barriers, but in this case those represented by the Draco Spindle Galaxy galaxy's are particularly difficult to manage. The theme this time will certainly be to push for the releasing of restrictions around the world, probably referring to the collective resistance to the increasing internet control by governments, since it has been recognized as precisely the mechanism of power that binds the masses together: communication. Tough restrictions on freedom will be attempted, but there will also be a great resistance to it.

     The struggle can be intense: Uranus is in September 2012 in parallel to star cluster M5, which is characterized by being very old and very large with a great number of variable stars, which are exhausting their vital fuel, symbolizing a very strong, conservative power which is also being undermined. The more so as Uranus, the revolutionary, gets also involved! Pluto, meanwhile, is in contra parallel to M44, the Beehive Cluster, whose tendency is towards expression, communication and represents, in case anyone had not noticed, the wave of demonstrations worldwide. The contra parallel indicates an adjustment  between controlling mechanisms of governments and corporations, visible or hidden, and the will of the people on Earth, which seems to be very determined to avoid being controlled.

     It also noteworthy that Pluto is also in an ecliptic conjunction with star cluster M69, which represents the financial power of corporations, because of its high metallicity. So we have a collision between the power of money and social-oriented policies, including the state apparatus, invaded by the economic interests of companies, and the will of the people, tired of being manipulated and subordinated to political interests of an élite.


A prolonged struggle for the new paradigms

    But this is only the beginning. One can hardly declare a winner of this contest. Knowing that this stage will last until 2015, people should not be discouraged if there is some progress at certain times and setbacks at others. In every struggle there are several different phases, but it is clear that the prolonged revolutionary process in this decade is what will undermine the existing structures. And while these social structures continue to have power over individuals, it can actually be seen as a shell whose fissures let us glimpse the trends that were incubating for nearly 50 years. Yes, ever since the cultural revolution of the 60's irrupted in many different ways to make the statements of a new phase which will last for more than a century. The traces left of that movement at that time were the seeds of for the new cycle, actually paradigms that belong to a global society, which is free, environmentally friendly and cosmopolitan, in contrast with a colonial empire driven by money and corruption, although in many respects they might resemble.

     But do not confuse the shell with the new being coming from the inside. The year 2012 is the time to apply the principles of freedom, strength and regeneration which gradually have been germinating over the past 5 decades, and we must be properly positioned to contribute from our individual reality. Those who are indifferent or oblivious to this process can be dragged and swept by this process, rather than participating and flowing with it. There is no doubt that during this year we have some of the biggest challenges of this turbulent period. But, if approached with enthusiasm, intelligence and above all, a sense of unity among people and nations, we will pave the way for changes in the subsequent years to be more regenerative than destructive. It is therefore important to be part of the change process, and not detach from it! And while the planets indicate, as a cosmic calendar of celestial grandeur where we are located now, we are the ones who decide where to direct our destiny. We always did, only now it is happening with a greater collective consciousness.

July 17th: Mars is conjunct the Antennae Galaxies, square Pluto and stellar cluster M25

Mars makes an ecliptic conjunction with the Antennae Galaxies, adding strength to the Uranus retrograde station that took place just a few days ago in opposition to this galactic collision. This will certainly have a strong effect in our relationships. And, together with the Pluto/M25 square, it will test them in order to regenerate them, redefining our mutual goals to have better exchange, at a personal and at a collective level.

July 6th: Uranus in opposition to the Antennae Galaxies, in contra parallel to Juno seeks to balance relationships and social participation with freedom and independence

July 6th: Uranus is in contra parallel to asteroid Juno. Contra parallels represent a balance between two forces. It's like a scale that is trying, after leaning to both sides, to find a balance. Today it is up to the planet of independence and the asteroid of relationships to adjust to each other, seeking a middle ground in which commitments do not limit personal freedom and independence does not frustrate communion with others.

     This trend, which is valid until July 10th, will be manifested in many ways. At a personal level, it corresponds to adjustments in relationships: it is advisable to seek to balance, depending on the current situation. If there has been much cohabitation or dependence, it is better to allow space and time where everyone expresses their individuality. That will release tensions and help prevent future problems. If there has been a distancing and lack of commitment, it is a good time to share, cooperate, join, participate and strengthen links. The effort to reach a middle ground may be hard, and in extreme cases cause break-ups, splits. Juno is still opposed to star cluster M34, which contains many stars arranged in pairs, in couples. This opposition represents the need to avoid certain associations while favoring others.

     But stable and sincere relations will benefit from doing new things, change their routines, try new ways of sharing and relating. One must therefore be open to new things just to balance. In social terms it is more advisable to have an informal, casual approach, rather than one rigid and conventional. At an international level, this will probably cause several coalition breaks or tensions between countries, but also a refreshing attitude in many cases. Juno represents partnerships, Uranus indicates revolution, so the vibrant environment nowadays indicates a sense of unity among the masses who seek a change in all countries.

      Uranus is in opposition to the Antennae Galaxies, a pair of interacting galaxies in an intense, distorting contact, yet fertilizing. These galaxies in the constellation of Corvus symbolize the social impact on the individual, a vulnerability to the influence of society, the collective interference in personal life. Uranus in opposition shows a rebel resistance to it, as it crosses the indomitable zodiacal sign of Aries. Uranus is looking for new ways to figure out solutions to the numerous social problems of today. Hence there is the need to open new ways for the XXIst century and give an increasing weight to the real needs of individuals rather than that of institutions and traditions.

June 2nd: Jupiter in contra parallel to the Antennae Galaxies encourages positive and intense exchange, and also shows the strength to resist unwanted influences

June 2nd: Jupiter in contra parallel to the Antennae Galaxies. This combination is strong, and represents the possibility of great, although intense, exchange. The Antenna Galaxies, located in the constellation of Corvus, is an visually breathtaking example of a galaxy collision in the process. Both galaxies have been distorted as a result of this interaction, which has triggered the birth of a new generation of stars. Similarly, the transit of Jupiter by this pair suggests positive exchanges between individuals and between groups, institutions, companies or countries.    

     It is then an excellent weekend to give and receive, and to generate creative teamwork. For romantic relationships, there are good prospects, too!. However, it is possible that in some cases, the interaction may be too intense and cause discomfort. It is therefore important to be aware in what way and to what extent we can influence others. And in any case, you must set boundaries and limits in relationships if you notice unwanted excesses, although these may not be intentional. This trend is also positive in order to release dependency and for gathering enough strength to resist external influences, finding an outlet to follow our own individual way.

March 28th: Venus and the Crab Nebula indicate drastic changes; the Sun and the Antennae Galaxy indicate the need to measure the impact of our relationships

March 28th: Venus in parallel to the Crab Nebula (M1) and at 135° from Pluto. This combination may coincide with drastic changes in relationships and explosive situations, attempts to manipulate and disagreements. This will certainly cause major shifts, but not all of them are bad. If you are consious of this trend, it is possible to direct  this energy constructively changing your position on circumstances. If things do not change, then you can change your attitude and particularly your expectations. It will be liberating. It can be a good day for shopping and major investment, but only if carefully planned, because otherwise, it is possibe to waste resources and have capital leaks, which should be avoided. The Sun is in opposition to the Antennae Galaxy, actually a pair of galaxies that have been deformed by their mutual contact. The same can happen today, so it is advisable to select properly the people with whom we interact. Seek only the company of compatible people, otherwise there may be undesirable influences.

August 4th: Pluto and the Antennae Galaxies stand for intense interactions, but Venus makes them smoother with an optimistic outlook

August 4th: Venus in contraparallel to Pluto and the Antennae galaxies, squares Jupiter. This combination shows the strong infuence people can have among themselves. It is important to measure the impact we can have on others and see to what extent we can be influenced by them too. The Antennae Galaxies are two galaxies in collision that symbolize intense interaction in relationships. But Pluto is involved in a parallel with them, so there may be manipulation that must be avoided, because it can produce a negative effect. Fortunately, Venus in contraparallel balances this trend, indicating the possibility of relating without power games and keeping a protective, vital, creative and optimistic approach, putting aside hidden intentions. It is therefore an excellent time to shed light and joy where there has been damage caused by  power abuse.
Mercury sextile Mars is a smooth, favorable trend that favors daily routine and advancement in domestic affairs and everyday life in general. However, try to avoid stress and impatience.
On the other hand, retrograde Neptune enters Aquarius and slowly returns to make an ecliptic conjunction with star cluster M15, which indicates that we must find solutions to remaining disagreements ... individually and also in the world. This process will take several months, so get to work now!
